Okay Place, Work-Life Balance Can Be Tricky
Pros: The teams are great here; it's easy to connect with colleagues, especially in the specialty materials industry. You get decent benefits and the hybrid work model is a big plus, helps with commutes for sure.
Cons: Work-life balance can be tough for Technical Sales Representative roles, especially with client demands. Sometimes the workload feels heavy, stretching beyond 40 hours a week to hit targets. Leadership could do better supporting this.
Advice to Management: Focus more on managing workloads, especially for client-facing roles. Empower teams to say no to unrealistic deadlines to improve employee well-being.

Okay Flexibility for Onsite Roles, Could Be Better
Pros: You can sometimes shift your hours a bit if you talk to your manager. It's helpful if you have a doctor's appointment or something like that. They're generally understanding for small, individual needs, which is a plus for Process Engineer roles requiring plant presence.
Cons: Don't expect much WFH or remote work options here, especially in the manufacturing sector. It's a pretty traditional, corporate environment. For us in operations, it's pretty much 5 days a week in the Avon Lake office or plant, no hybrid options really.
Advice to Management: Look into more flexible scheduling for onsite roles where possible, even just 4-day workweeks or occasional WFH days. It would really help with employee morale and reduce burnout in the chemical industry.

Okay flexibility, depends on your role at Avient
Pros: I've been in a Process Engineer role, and the hybrid model for corporate staff is pretty solid. We get a couple of WFH days, which is helpful for managing personal appointments without too much hassle. It's a decent setup for many in the **specialty chemicals** sector, especially compared to fully onsite roles.
Cons: However, don't expect the same if you're in a plant-based manufacturing position; their flexibility is minimal. Even with the **hybrid model**, there's often pressure for more in-office time than advertised, which can be tough. It really depends on your direct manager in the **Avon Lake, Ohio** office.
Advice to Management: Management should make work flexibility more consistent across all departments and roles, especially for those in manufacturing. Trust your employees more with their time, even within a hybrid model.
