Hybrid Work Setup Is Decent, But Has Limits
Pros: The hybrid work option is a solid perk. As a Food Scientist, I could work remotely a couple of days a week, which really helped with my personal schedule. For R&D projects, we often needed lab time in the Beloit, Wisconsin office, so the mix felt practical.
Cons: True remote work isn't really an option for many roles, especially in food innovation. There's a strong push for more onsite days from some leadership, even when it's not strictly necessary. It feels like this big corporate could offer more flexibility.
Advice to Management: Trust your employees more with where they can be productive. Re-evaluate which roles genuinely need to be onsite daily, especially for non-lab-based food scientist work or other supporting functions. More options for remote work could attract top talent.

Decent Flexibility, But Depends on Your Manager
Pros: I liked that there's a pretty solid hybrid work option for many R&D Scientist roles, often 2-3 days WFH. This really helps with personal appointments and avoiding the daily commute in Beloit, Wisconsin. It's a lifesaver sometimes.
Cons: The main issue is that work flexibility really varies by team and manager. If your specific manager isn't keen on it, you're pretty much stuck being onsite. It's especially tough for some in food manufacturing who need to be hands-on all the time, even when their tasks could be done remotely part-time.
Advice to Management: Kerry leadership should really try to standardize flexible work policies across all departments, not just leave it up to individual managers. This would help a lot with consistency and fairness for all employees, especially those in technical roles who can work remotely.

Hybrid Model is Okay, But Needs Consistency
Pros: It's nice that we have a hybrid work option, usually 2-3 WFH days a week for the R&D team. This definitely helps with the commute in Beloit, Wisconsin. As an Associate Food Scientist, I appreciate some autonomy over my schedule.
Cons: But sometimes the onsite requirements feel a bit arbitrary, especially for tasks that can easily be done remotely. There's not always much flexibility if you need to adjust your schedule last minute, even in a big corporate environment. It can be tough balancing personal life with strict office hours.
Advice to Management: Management should really standardize the hybrid policy across departments and be more open to ad-hoc flexible hours for long-term employees. Trust your teams more, especially when we're delivering on ingredient development goals.
