Pros: You get to work on some really big infrastructure projects here, which is great for a Project Engineer. There's a solid benefit package, and a hybrid work option for most roles, which I appreciate.
Cons: The company culture can feel pretty bureaucratic sometimes. Some teams are awesome, but others are very siloed and not very collaborative, making daily work tough. It's a large corporate environment, so expect things to move slowly.
Advice to Management: Try to foster more cross-team collaboration, especially within the civil engineering division. Breaking down some of those internal silos would really improve the atmosphere.

Pros: As a Civil Engineer, I appreciate the hybrid work option. It's nice not being in the Los Angeles office every day. Project managers are usually understanding if you need some flexibility for appointments.
Cons: But work-life balance can get tough when major infrastructure projects hit deadlines. There's pressure to put in extra hours, which can make 40-hour weeks feel impossible. You really have to advocate for yourself.
Advice to Management: Management should consistently enforce reasonable workloads across all teams. Encourage taking PTO and discourage late-night emails. Support project managers in pushing back on unrealistic deadlines.

Pros: I liked the scale of the infrastructure projects. As an Environmental Engineer, you get to work on some really interesting stuff. The company has good resources, and I learned a ton about environmental permitting. It's a big, established firm, which feels secure.
Cons: Work-life balance can be tough for engineering consulting roles. There are definitely times you're pulling long hours to meet deadlines. The hybrid model is okay, but some managers push for more onsite time. It's hard to predict busy periods, making personal life tricky.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize expectations on hours. Help project managers better estimate timelines to avoid last-minute crunch periods. Empower teams to utilize hybrid work options more consistently.
