Leadership can be a mixed bag here
Pros: You get exposed to some really complex restructuring and advisory projects. Senior leadership in the New York office generally know their stuff inside and out. It's a great place to learn a ton if you're proactive as a Senior Associate.
Cons: Some project managers aren't great at delegating tasks effectively, which leads to burnout. New hires, especially in consulting roles, don't always get the mentorship they need to thrive. Feedback is often inconsistent, making it tough to gauge performance.
Advice to Management: Please work on standardizing leadership training for project managers and senior staff. Consistent mentorship and regular, constructive feedback would really help junior consulting staff grow. Also, encourage better workload distribution to prevent burnout.

Consulting life at A&M is a grind
Pros: I've learned so much on different turnaround projects. The client exposure is fantastic for a junior Consultant. You get hands-on experience in complex financial scenarios.
Cons: Work-life balance here is notoriously tough. Expect to work 60-80 hour weeks regularly, especially on tight deadlines. Travel can be constant too, which hurts your personal life in New York City.
Advice to Management: Consider implementing clearer boundaries for project hours. More predictable travel schedules would help Consultants manage their personal lives better.

Demanding but Rewarding for Consulting Professionals
Pros: The client work is super interesting, you learn tons. For Senior Consultant roles, there's great exposure to complex financial advisory projects. Pay and benefits are really solid, which helps justify the effort.
Cons: Work-life balance here is tough, plain and simple. Expect very long hours, often working weekends, especially in the New York City office. It's just the nature of the consulting beast, not ideal for a healthy personal life.
Advice to Management: Try to implement more protected time for personal lives. Encourage teams to disconnect on weekends. Even small changes would make a difference.
