Stable but slow growth for engineers here
Pros: Job security is pretty good, especially for Software Engineers working on core enterprise software projects. They don't do big layoffs. You get decent benefits and the pay is okay for Kuala Lumpur.
Cons: Career growth is really slow though. There aren't many new projects for software development, so it can feel a bit stagnant. Don't expect rapid advancement in this corporate setup.
Advice to Management: Bring in more challenging software development projects to keep tech talent engaged and improve growth opportunities. That would really help with retention.

Leadership needs to step up at WDR Tech
Pros: The team here is really supportive, and we try to make project delivery happen no matter what. I appreciate the hybrid work option for better flexibility.
Cons: Leadership in the Kuala Lumpur office can be pretty hands-off, sometimes to the point of being disengaged. There's not much clear direction for Software Engineer roles, making career growth hard.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to be more present and provide actual guidance. Listen to the folks on the ground doing the software development work. Clearer goals would help everyone a lot.

Pay's okay, benefits are decent here
Pros: The health insurance is pretty solid, which is a big plus in the tech industry. You get a good amount of annual leave too, better than some other mid-sized tech firms. It's a stable setup for essential benefits.
Cons: Salary for a Software Engineer here in the Kuala Lumpur office isn't exactly market-leading. Don't expect huge bonuses or lots of extra perks you might find elsewhere. Raises aren't super frequent or substantial.
Advice to Management: Review the salary bands for all technical roles, especially for Software Engineer positions, to ensure they're competitive with the current market. Consider adding more performance-based bonuses to motivate staff.
