Work Flexibility: It's a Mixed Bag Here

Pros: There's some decent flexibility for some roles. As a Mechatronic Engineer, I sometimes got to shift my hours a bit if I needed to handle personal stuff. For specific design projects, they let us WFH maybe one day a week sometimes, which was a nice perk for a mid-sized engineering firm.
Cons: But true work flexibility is really project-dependent. Most of the time, we're expected onsite for manufacturing and assembly tasks. It's not great if you're looking for consistent hybrid work or fully remote options in the engineering industry.
Advice to Management: Management should consider implementing clearer, more consistent hybrid work policies for all engineering and technical roles. It would really help with employee retention and attract new talent in Kuala Lumpur. Show more

Leadership Needs to Step Up its Game

Pros: I've learned a lot technically here as a Mechatronics Engineer. You get to work on some decent automation solutions in the mechatronics industry. It's a stable mid-sized company with interesting projects sometimes.
Cons: Leadership can be pretty inconsistent. There's a lot of micromanagement, and decisions often change without much warning. It makes planning tough for the engineering team.
Advice to Management: Focus on developing a clearer vision and communicate it consistently to the teams. Empower your managers more instead of micromanaging, trust them to lead their own projects. This will boost morale and efficiency. Show more
