Okay Hybrid, Needs More Trust for Flexibility
Pros: YL SYSTEMS SDN BHD does offer some hybrid work. As a Software Developer, I could do 2-3 days WFH, which was decent. It's nice to avoid the Kuala Lumpur traffic a few times a week. That small bit of flexibility helped my commute a lot.
Cons: They're pretty strict about the onsite days though. You can't just swap your days without a long approval process, even for simple systems integration projects. There's not much trust for full remote options, even when the work could easily be done from home. Wish they'd loosen up a bit on their work-from-office mandates.
Advice to Management: Trust your employees more with their schedules. Evaluate roles for true remote potential instead of blanket onsite mandates for all IT roles. More flexible policies would definitely boost morale and help attract talent in the competitive Malaysian tech scene.
