Esports Event Coordinator

High Energy, Sometimes High Hours
Pros: I really enjoy being part of the esports industry here. As an Esports Event Coordinator, I get to work on awesome gaming events in the Jakarta office. The team's super passionate and we push each other to do great things.
Cons: The work-life balance can be tough, especially during major project deadlines or big events. You'll often find yourself working late nights, and sometimes even weekends get eaten up. It's not ideal if you're looking for strict 40-hour weeks.
Advice to Management: Try to implement better resource planning for major events to ease the pressure on event staff. More flexibility or compensatory time off after intense periods would really help with burnout.

Tough for career growth in Jakarta esports
Pros: You get a lot of hands-on experience in the gaming industry in Jakarta. For Esports Coordinator roles, it's a good way to learn by doing. There's potential if you really push yourself.
Cons: Formal career growth paths are really unclear. Don't expect much structured training or development. You kinda have to make your own opportunities here; it's not handed to you.
Advice to Management: Focus on building clearer paths for employee development. Regular check-ins and formal mentorship would really help people grow beyond just doing the day-to-day work.

Okay Flexibility, Depends on Your Role
Pros: As a Community Manager in the esports industry, I had some decent work-life balance. We often got to work hybrid style. It was nice not being in the Jakarta office five days a week.
Cons: Work flexibility wasn't consistent across all departments. Some teams, especially event ops, seemed tied to the office. The WFH setup could be a bit disorganized sometimes.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize work flexibility policies across departments. Make sure everyone feels they have options, not just certain roles. Improve internal communication for remote and hybrid teams.

Long Hours for Esports, But It's Fun
Pros: I loved the team and the passion everyone has for esports events. Getting to work directly on major tournaments in the Jakarta office was a huge plus. It's exciting to be part of the gaming industry with a real sense of community.
Cons: Work-life balance is tough, especially leading up to and during events. As an Esports Event Coordinator, you're looking at really long days and sometimes weekends. There's often required onsite work with little flexibility.
Advice to Management: Try to better distribute the workload leading up to and during big esports events. More staff or clearer boundaries could help prevent burnout for event teams.
