Clariant Culture: It's a Mixed Bag
Pros: As a Process Engineer, I got a lot of exposure to complex specialty chemicals manufacturing. My immediate team was supportive and we worked well together in the Louisville, KY facility. There's generally good job security in the chemical industry here.
Cons: It can feel very corporate, with slow decision-making and too much red tape. Upper management sometimes seems detached from the day-to-day realities on the plant floor. The company culture overall needs more focus on employee engagement.
Advice to Management: Try to bridge the gap between corporate decisions and what happens on the plant floor. More transparency would help boost morale and improve the company culture.

Hybrid Model is Okay, But Needs Improvement
Pros: The hybrid work model is good for some teams. For non-lab roles, there's a solid WFH option a few days a week. It helps with work-life balance for many in the specialty chemicals industry.
Cons: As a Lab Technician, my work flexibility is pretty limited. Most of my time is spent onsite in the Charlotte, NC facility, which is tough. The company could be more understanding about flexible hours for all roles, not just office staff in this big corporate environment.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate flexibility policies. Not everyone can do hybrid work, but even onsite roles could benefit from more flexible shift options or occasional WFH days for administrative tasks.
