Junior Software Engineer

Solid Benefits, But Pay Could Be Better
Pros: The health benefits are pretty solid for a mid-sized tech company, and the 401k match is decent. They also offer good PTO, which is nice for work-life balance.
Cons: As a Junior Software Engineer, the starting salary was okay, but raises aren't very competitive. I've seen better base pay for similar roles in the Austin, TX office at other places.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the salary bands, especially for early career positions, to stay competitive in the Austin market.

Pay is Solid, Benefits Could Be Better
Pros: The base salary for a Software Engineer here is pretty decent, especially for entry-level tech roles in Austin, TX. I appreciate the standard health insurance options; they're fine. PTO is also quite generous, which is a plus.
Cons: The bonus structure isn't great, honestly. Don't expect huge annual payouts. Also, the 401k matching for this mid-sized tech company is lower than what I've seen at other places. For more senior software development positions, the pay growth can feel a bit capped.
Advice to Management: Review the 401k matching and consider a more competitive bonus plan. This would really help attract and retain top tech talent, especially for experienced engineering roles.
