Pros: As a Junior Software Engineer, I learned a ton from senior developers. They do offer some training for new technologies, which is a big plus in the IT industry. The initial projects here at this mid-sized company were really engaging.
Cons: After the first year, career growth really slowed down for me. It's tough to get promoted without specific manager advocacy, even with solid performance. There's not much of a clear path for advancement in this Jakarta office.
Advice to Management: Management should really invest in clearer career progression frameworks for all roles, not just for new hires. It would help a lot if there were defined promotion criteria and regular check-ins about individual development plans. People want to see a future here.
