Solid start, but career growth is slow
Pros: The initial learning curve was good for me as an Instructional Designer entering the EdTech industry. They're pretty flexible if you're working remote from NYC, which is a huge plus for work-life balance.
Cons: There's not much room to grow beyond your initial role, especially in instructional design. You don't see a lot of internal promotions, and career pathing feels unclear. It's tough to get managers to support you developing new skills outside your immediate tasks.
Advice to Management: Management needs to create clearer career paths and offer more professional development opportunities. Support internal moves and skill-building if you want people to stick around for the long term.
