Sales life at JAPFA: It's a mixed bag
Pros: As a Sales Representative in the agri-food industry, I appreciate the hybrid work model. It's good that I can work from home some days. My regional manager is pretty understanding about personal appointments.
Cons: But honestly, work-life balance here is tough. You're always on call for clients, especially with farming schedules. The travel for client visits is constant and often eats into evenings.
Advice to Management: Management should look at staffing more sales support. That would help us manage client load better and reduce late-night follow-ups. Also, clearer boundaries on after-hours contact.

Hybrid model needs more flexibility
Pros: They do have a stated hybrid policy, which is a start. It's nice to have some days working from home, even if it's limited. Team members are generally understanding if you need a specific day off.
Cons: The "hybrid" model isn't very flexible in practice for most roles like mine. We have strict onsite requirements, usually 3-4 days a week, making true work-life balance tough. There isn't much leeway with schedules, which can be hard in the agri-food industry.
Advice to Management: Really re-evaluate the hybrid policy for the Jakarta office. Give employees more autonomy over their WFH days and consider if 3-4 days onsite is truly necessary for all non-operational roles in the agri-food industry. True work-life balance comes with real flexibility.

Leadership Has Its Moments, Needs Improvement
Pros: As a Quality Control Supervisor, I've seen some solid commitment from my direct managers in our Jakarta office. They really care about the production quality and getting the food products out right. There's a decent focus on food safety protocols, which is important for any agri-food company.
Cons: Upper leadership can feel pretty disconnected from day-to-day operations. Communication often feels slow or unclear, especially when it comes to big corporate decisions affecting the agriculture and aquaculture divisions. It's tough to get clear direction sometimes from the top.
Advice to Management: Try to connect more with teams on the ground, especially those in critical food processing and supply chain roles. Clearer, more timely communication from the top leadership would help a lot.
