Hybrid is okay, but could be more flexible
Pros: Initially, the move to a hybrid model was a relief for us Recruitment Consultants. It's nice to have some WFH days. The London office is pretty central too, which helps for the days you are in.
Cons: They're pretty strict about the required onsite days. You can't just pick your days; it's a set schedule. For a corporate recruitment firm, I expected a bit more freedom, honestly. It often feels like you're tied down, which makes personal appointments tough.
Advice to Management: Give employees more control over their hybrid schedules. Trust your teams to manage their time, whether they're in the office or remote. It would really boost morale and productivity for your Recruitment Consultants.

Okay for recruitment, but watch your hours
Pros: The commission structure can be pretty solid if you're good at headhunting. I liked working with my team in the Singapore office; they're supportive. Plus, the hybrid work arrangement helps a bit.
Cons: Work-life balance here is tough. You're expected to put in long hours, often well past 6 PM, especially if you're a new Recruitment Consultant trying to hit targets. The pressure to perform can be pretty intense in the staffing industry.
Advice to Management: Try to encourage more reasonable working hours and less weekend intrusion. Burnout is real for your Recruitment Consultants.

Okay for growth, tough on work flexibility
Pros: You'll learn a lot about the recruitment industry, especially client management and candidate sourcing. There's a decent bonus structure for hitting targets here. Solid career path if you thrive in an intense onsite work setting in the Singapore office.
Cons: Work flexibility isn't really a thing for us Recruitment Consultants. Expect long hours and it's mostly onsite work, even for routine tasks. It's tough to manage personal appointments with the strict office presence they require.
Advice to Management: Consider implementing a more flexible hybrid model for experienced Recruitment Consultants. Trust your team more with remote work options for certain tasks. It would really help with retention.

Tough Work-Life Balance in Recruitment
Pros: You can have a decent salary with commissions if you hit your targets. The team in the Singapore office is generally supportive. It's a good place to learn the ins and outs of the staffing industry.
Cons: The workload can be pretty intense, especially towards month-end. There's a lot of pressure to make placements, which means really long hours are common. Work-life balance here is generally poor, it's not a remote-friendly role.
Advice to Management: Management needs to really look at the pressure on recruitment consultants. Maybe set more realistic targets or offer better support systems to help with work-life balance. Burnout is a real issue.

Tough Hours in the Singapore Office
Pros: You learn a ton about talent acquisition quickly. There's a decent commission structure if you hit big targets. The team in the Singapore office is pretty supportive, which helps when things get tough.
Cons: Work-life balance here is rough for most Recruitment Consultant roles. Expect long hours, often 10-12 hour days, especially towards month-end. It's mostly onsite work, so no WFH flexibility for me.
Advice to Management: Management needs to seriously look at the workload for Recruitment Consultant roles. Burnout is real, and it affects retention. More work-from-home options or flexible hours would make a huge difference.

Decent pay for a tough sales job
Pros: If you're a strong Recruitment Consultant and hit your targets, the commission structure is pretty good. The base salary is okay for the recruitment industry in the Tokyo office, especially if you're good at headhunting.
Cons: The base salary itself isn't super high, so if you have an off quarter, your take-home pay can suffer. The overall benefits package isn't fantastic; it's pretty standard, not matching what you'd see at big tech firms.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the benefits package to make it more competitive and attractive. Maybe offer clearer paths for base salary increases, not just commission boosts.

Okay Culture for a Sales-Driven Environment
Pros: The team camaraderie can be pretty good, especially with your immediate desk mates. There's a lot of support for new Recruitment Consultants learning the ropes in staffing solutions. People do celebrate wins.
Cons: It's a very target-driven culture, so it can feel cutthroat sometimes. The pressure for numbers in this headhunting industry often leads to long hours. Work-life balance isn't really a priority.
Advice to Management: Try to recognize effort beyond just hitting sales targets for recruitment roles. It would help with overall morale and reduce burnout in the Singapore office.

Culture is okay, but very sales-driven
Pros: The team in the Singapore office, especially for IT roles, is generally quite supportive. You learn a lot about the recruitment industry, particularly candidate sourcing and client relations, which is good for career growth.
Cons: The company culture is really focused on hitting sales targets. If you're not consistently performing as a Recruitment Consultant, the pressure can be intense and that impacts team morale and job security. Work-life balance can suffer because of the constant push.
Advice to Management: Try to balance the strong sales focus with more team-building initiatives that aren't solely performance-based. It would really help with overall company culture and retention, especially for newer Recruitment Consultants.

Job Security is Okay, Depends on Performance
Pros: The company has a strong brand in the headhunting space across Asia, which helps with overall stability. As a Recruitment Consultant, if you're consistently billing, you're fine. There's decent access to resources in the Singapore office.
Cons: Job security definitely feels tied to individual performance, especially for staffing roles. If you miss your targets for a few quarters, it gets tough. The talent acquisition market can be volatile, which adds to the pressure.
Advice to Management: Consider more robust support systems for consultants during slower market periods to boost morale and retention, especially for junior staffing roles.
