Solid retail gig, but commission can be tough
Pros: If you're good at furniture sales, you can make decent money here. The Brick is a big player in the retail industry, so it feels stable. They generally don't just cut people unless performance is really bad.
Cons: Your income can really fluctuate as a Sales Associate, which impacts how secure you feel. There's a lot of pressure to hit high sales targets, especially at our Toronto location. It's tough when foot traffic is low.
Advice to Management: Think about better base pay or more consistent spiffs to help with slow periods. It'd make Sales Associate roles feel more secure.

Tough to balance personal life with sales
Pros: It's a fast-paced environment if you like staying busy. As a Sales Associate, you're constantly on the go helping customers with furniture and appliances, so the day flies by. There's good camaraderie among the team during shifts at the Toronto store.
Cons: Work-life balance here is tough, especially for retail sales roles. Expect mandatory weekend and evening shifts, which makes planning personal life hard. The pressure to hit commission targets means you're always working, even off the clock sometimes, which is draining.
Advice to Management: Try to offer more consistent schedules or at least some predictable weekend off blocks. A less aggressive commission structure might help reduce burnout for sales associates and improve overall work-life balance.
