Affordable Art Fair is on the lookout to hire a dynamic, organized, and proactive individual to support our marketing team to attract visitors to the fairs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for art, love to execute marketing plans and ‘can do’ attitude.


THE COMPANY

The Affordable Art Fair formula is simple – a relaxed, unstuffy environment in which people feel confident to explore, learn about and buy contemporary art under a ceiling price. Founded in 1999, the Affordable Art Fair is the world’s biggest art fair organiser and now hosts 18 physical fairs annually around the world, including London, New York, Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong. It is owned by Ramsay Fairs, which also includes VOLTA Art Fair.

THE ROLE

The key objective is to attract visitors, helping them to discover and buy art they love. As part of the APAC marketing team, this role will develop and execute the year-round integrated marketing plan encompassing Marketing and PR, Ticketing and VIP Management.


The role will report into the Hong Kong Fair Director and working closely with the team in Singapore. The candidate will be an excellent communicator with a passion for art, highly organised who can manage one or more campaigns a year and able to make customer focused decisions. The Marketing Manager will receive mentoring from our experienced APAC team as well as our global marketing gurus.


GENERAL OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

MARKETING PLANNING

  • Help set marketing objectives with Fair Director and create and execute the marketing plan to deliver these objectives.
  • With global and local support build customer insight strategy to feed into marketing plan.
  • Work with PR agency and team to create content and brand stories that get coverage year-round as well as feed into emails, social media and website content.
  • Work with global design team to deliver creative campaigns and collateral to promote the fair and create onsite activations.
  • Monitor competitors and trends in the contemporary art market and work with our global marketing gurus to learn and deliver best in class marketing strategies and tactics.


PR & ADVERTISING

  • Manage the PR agency, briefing in key stories, timelines, and target audiences and setting KPIs and proactively provide images and content.
  • Manage integrated advertising campaigns including outdoor, print, online and digital campaigns with advertisers and global marketing.
  • Effectively manage media invoicing including invoice processing and budget tracking.


CONTENT CREATION

  • Oversee the content strategy and localise any relevant global content across emails, social media, website to drive art sales, ticket sales and engagement.
  • Share learnings across the region and globally.
  • Lead any agreed fair activations to evolve the customer experience.
  • Complete campaign analysis based upon agreed global templates.
  • Lead B2B marketing to promote exhibiting at fairs alongside gallery team.
  • Plan and execute social media content for Chinese social platforms such as Xiaohongshu and Wechat.


MARKETING MATERIALS

  • Ensure we are creating high quality marketing material including fair guides, advertising assets, partner promotional assets and onsite signage.


TICKETING & INVITATIONS

  • Develop and deliver the ticketing and invitation strategy alongside global marketing to set up ticket shop, test site and manage process.
  • Oversee onsite ticket desk process and ensure smooth customer experience.
  • Grassroots management and establish relationships with VIP partners to expand reach and visitor attendance.


PARTNERSHIPS

  • Lead partnership pitching, with Fair Director, and execution of partnerships to achieve objectives and enhance the fairs.


ONSITE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

  • Deliver an exceptional visitor experience by supporting team with food and beverage, music and any programming requirements.


GENERAL ADMIN & BUDGETS

  • Manage and monitor marketing budget and provide accurate forecasts.
  • Actively use global marketing planning and analysis templates as lead on team planner.


THE ROLE REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING ATTRIBUTES

  • Team player with excellent written and verbal communications skills in English and Chinese..
  • B2C marketing experience ideally in events and/or the arts.
  • Acute attention to detail, high efficiency, and practical organisational skills.
  • Ability to multitask, working well under pressure to meet deadlines.


THE DETAILS

  • This is a permanent, full-time position based in Hong Kong
  • 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays
  • Candidate is required to travel internationally to fairs
