Mashreq: Decent Balance, But Prepare for Banking Sector Hustle
Pros: I appreciated the team culture in the Dubai office, which sometimes made longer hours feel better. For back-office roles within the banking sector, the work-life balance can actually be quite good with standard 9-5.
Cons: As a Relationship Manager, I often found myself working past official hours, especially dealing with client demands. It's a large corporate bank, so flexibility for remote work or personal appointments isn't always easy to come by for onsite roles.
Advice to Management: Try to empower managers to offer more work-from-home days, especially for those not strictly client-facing. It'd really help retention.

Job Security Can Be Tricky Here
Pros: Being a part of a big, established corporate bank like Mashreq offers some stability if your department is performing well. For a Financial Analyst in the right team, things feel pretty solid most of the time. There's comfort knowing you're in the broad financial services sector.
Cons: But honestly, job security can feel a bit up and down. There are frequent restructures, and that keeps everyone on edge in the Dubai office. It feels like performance targets are always shifting, which doesn't help with feeling secure in your role.
Advice to Management: Try to communicate organizational changes more clearly and give employees a better sense of stability during transitions. Frequent internal restructures make people anxious.

Pay is okay, but could be better
Pros: The health insurance and annual leave are actually pretty solid for the banking industry in Dubai. As a Senior Relationship Manager, you do get a good brand name on your CV, which is a plus.
Cons: Base salaries aren't as competitive as other corporate banks in the region. Bonuses aren't always tied directly to individual performance, which is a bummer. It's tough to feel truly valued sometimes.
Advice to Management: Management should really review compensation packages to stay competitive. Link bonuses more clearly to individual contributions, especially for client-facing roles like Senior Relationship Manager.
