Hybrid's okay, but not truly flexible.
Pros: It's a solid place to learn, especially if you're new to the fleet management industry. As a Logistics Coordinator, I got good experience with vessel schedules and operations. The hybrid model is offered, which is a start for many.
Cons: The hybrid setup isn't very flexible, though. We're mostly stuck with fixed onsite days in the Singapore office, often three specific days a week. It's hard to get things done when you can't really work from home much beyond those two days, and there's no real room to shift.
Advice to Management: Rethink the fixed hybrid schedule for roles like Logistics Coordinator. Offering more choice in which days are onsite, or allowing more ad-hoc remote days for focused tasks, would really improve employee satisfaction and work-life balance. Trust your employees more.

Hybrid Work is Okay for Fleet Ops
Pros: As a Fleet Operations Specialist, I appreciate the hybrid work model they have in place. It's nice to split time between the Hong Kong office and working from home. There's decent flexibility for personal appointments, which helps a lot.
Cons: True remote work isn't really an option for most roles in the maritime industry here. Even with hybrid, you're expected in the Hong Kong office often. Flexibility could be better, especially for short notice schedule changes.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more flexible hours or a truly remote option for roles that don't require constant onsite presence. This would really help with employee morale and retention.

Solid for maritime, tough on work-life balance
Pros: Job security here is pretty solid, especially for a big corporate in the maritime logistics sector. I've felt pretty secure in my role as a Fleet Operations Specialist, which is a big plus in the shipping industry.
Cons: The workload can get intense, though. Sometimes it feels like they expect too much from you, especially in the Hong Kong office. It definitely impacts your personal time.
Advice to Management: Try to balance the workload better for team members. More staff or clearer boundaries would help people not burn out.

Leadership Can Be a Mixed Bag Here
Pros: My direct team and some middle managers were really solid. You definitely gain good experience in the maritime industry, working out of the Hong Kong office. It's a stable place if you're looking for consistent fleet operations work.
Cons: Upper leadership often feels out of touch with day-to-day. Decisions for new tech or process improvements are super slow, impacting effective vessel management. It's hard to get clear strategic direction from the top, which gets frustrating for us Logistics Coordinators.
Advice to Management: Upper management needs to listen more to those on the ground. Clearer communication on company direction would help everyone. Maybe some leadership development programs too.

Leadership needs to step up big time
Pros: You get solid exposure to global maritime operations. The teams themselves are pretty dedicated and hardworking. It's good experience for a Fleet Operations Specialist looking for industry knowledge in Hong Kong.
Cons: Senior leadership can be pretty disconnected from daily tasks. There's not enough transparency on strategic decisions. You often feel like a cog in a big corporate machine, especially regarding career path.
Advice to Management: Be more visible and communicate strategic goals clearly. Empower middle management to support their teams better. Listen to feedback from employees on the ground, especially for core operational roles.

Decent Flexibility, But Still Needs Work
Pros: As a Logistics Analyst, I appreciate the occasional WFH days. It's not fully remote, but having those options for fleet operations really helps sometimes, especially with the commute in Hong Kong. The team collaboration is pretty solid too.
Cons: True work flexibility here is still a bit tough for many roles. You often need to be onsite for vessel management and client meetings. I wish there were more consistent hybrid options for non-essential maritime industry roles.
Advice to Management: Consider expanding hybrid work arrangements for more roles, not just a select few. It would really boost morale and help with talent retention in this competitive maritime industry. Also, clearly define expectations around remote versus onsite work.
