Pay's Alright, Benefits Need a Refresh
Pros: The base salary for a Cybersecurity Analyst is decent, especially for someone starting out. Job security is good, and it's a stable company in the network security space. I've always had my check on time.
Cons: Compared to other big tech players, the compensation isn't top-tier. Benefits like healthcare are okay, but don't feel super modern or competitive in San Carlos, CA. There's not much negotiation room on salary, which is tough.
Advice to Management: Management should really look at market rates for compensation, especially for technical roles. Update the benefits package to compete with other big tech companies.

Pay is Solid, Benefits Could Be Better
Pros: As a Software Engineer, my base salary was pretty competitive for the cybersecurity industry in the San Carlos, CA office. The medical benefits are actually quite good, which is a big plus.
Cons: The bonus structure isn't very generous compared to other big tech firms. Also, the 401k match is just okay, and annual raises don't really keep pace with inflation for many roles.
Advice to Management: Look into making the bonus structure more rewarding and consider boosting the 401k match to compete better with other companies in the big tech space.

Decent Pay for Cybersecurity Software Engineer
Pros: The base salary for software engineer roles is pretty solid, especially working in the San Carlos office. It's competitive with other big tech companies in the cybersecurity industry. You won't feel totally ripped off with your paycheck.
Cons: Annual raises are often just okay, and bonus potential isn't great at all. The health insurance plans could really be better for families. Stock options are pretty limited after your initial grant, which makes total compensation feel lower.
Advice to Management: Focus on improving the annual bonus structure and consider upgrading the health insurance options. Competitive stock refreshers would also help retain valuable talent within the engineering department.

Benefits are okay, pay needs work
Pros: The health benefits are actually pretty good; they cover a lot, which helps. The PTO policy isn't bad for a big tech company, and as a Security Engineer, it feels decent. The 401k match is also a fine perk.
Cons: The base salary is pretty low for the cybersecurity industry, and it's tough to feel competitive with market rates. Raises don't really keep up, and bonuses are often small. Don't expect much in the way of stock options either.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the compensation structure, especially base salaries for technical roles like Security Engineers. It's hard to retain top talent when pay isn't competitive with other companies in the cybersecurity space.

Decent Benefits, Pay Could Be Better
Pros: The health benefits package is actually pretty good here. I've always felt like my medical and dental were well covered. They offer a decent 401k match, which is a big plus for a company in the cybersecurity industry.
Cons: Base salary for Software Engineer roles isn't super competitive, especially for the San Carlos office in this market. I feel a bit underpaid compared to my peers at other big tech firms. Bonuses aren't very transparent and often feel underwhelming.
Advice to Management: Look into increasing base salaries to stay competitive for engineers, especially in Silicon Valley. Make the bonus structure more clear and impactful.
