What The Role Is

Temporary Student Support Officer (Special Education Needs)

What You Will Be Working On

Provideindividualisedsupporttostudentsinmanagingchallengingbehavioursinschool,including support management for meltdowns
SupporttheSpecial Education Needs (SEN)teamtoimplementbehaviourinterventionsandlearningsupportplansforstudents with SEN in collaboration with academic team and other stakeholders
Maintainrecordsofstudentprogressandinterventions implemented
Assistwithorganising , implementing, and facilitating training and advocacy programmes forstudentswith SEN
PartnerwithSENteam,academicteamandotherstakeholderstocreateasupportiveenvironment conducive to the success of students with SEN
Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the student system's (STAR) Case Management module

What We Are Looking For

PassionanddispositiontocareforandworkwithstudentswithSEN
RelevantqualificationsinInclusiveandSpecialEducation,Education,Psychology,Appliedor Educational Psychology, Counselling and/or relevant areas preferred
Atleast3yearsofexperiencesupportingstudentswithSEN,preferablyinaneducationalorsocial service sector setting preferred
Resourcefulandgoodproblem-solvingskills.Demonstratedabilitytoworkwithindividualsfrom diverse backgrounds, and collaboratively with different stakeholders in student support
Demonstratedabilitytoworkindependentlyaswellasinateam setting
Excellent interpersonal communication (both oral and written) and administrative skills
IT proficiency in data management, with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Experience in facilitating workshop and events management would be an advantage
