What The Role Is
You formulate, develop and review financial and management accounting policies, as well as put in place processes and procedures to ensure efficient and effective MINDEF-wide financial reporting to senior management and the Accountant General's Department.
What You Will Be Working On
- Formulate, develop and review financial and management accounting policies across MINDEF operations
- Provide comprehensive financial reporting to senior management and the Accountant General's Department
- Conduct financial analysis by developing and applying financial models, tools and costing methodologies
- Analyse various areas of defence expenditures to provide meaningful performance measurements
- Support resource decision making through detailed financial analysis and recommendations
- Develop costing methodologies to enhance financial transparency and accountability across defence operations
Challenge(s) - Explaining complex financial implications from both strategic and operational perspectives to diverse stakeholders with varying levels of financial expertise
What We Are Looking For
- Education in Business, Finance, Accountancy or Economics is preferred
- At least 2 years of work experience in financial and management accounting is preferred
- Self-starter with strong team player qualities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical mindset with ability to develop and apply financial models and methodologies
