What The Role Is
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) plays a critical role in keeping Singapore safe and secure with our mission to prevent, deter and detect crime.
The Manpower Department is the staff authority for key manpower-related issues within SPF. The mission of the Manpower Department is to recruit, retain and develop the right people, as well as provide an appropriate exit system for our officers.
You will be part of a highly skilled team in the Manpower Department which provides various key Human Resource (HR) services to officers force-wide and manages a diversified portfolio managing different aspects of HR.
You will be placed under the Management Executive Scheme
What You Will Be Working On
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating and liaising with various parties to support matters relating to police associations that see to the welfare of personnel in the Singapore Police Force.
- Managing financial controls/processes, accounting, procurement, audits and general administration, such as amendments to constitutions and rules of police associations.
- Reviewing and enhancing governance and related workflows for various HR processes, including reviewing compliance papers, establishing workflows to support audit/governance processes (e.g. on payroll and HR records) and reviews on payroll and HR schemes.
- Participating in development and execution of well-being projects and initiatives such as study awards, health screening, work-life harmony campaigns and events.
- Supporting workplace safety and health safety matters, such as, scheduling training programmes to keep officers’ knowledge up-to-date and affiliated initiatives such as bizSAFE certification.
- Collaborating and liaising with various parties to support matters on personnel functions relating to employees in the Singapore Police Force, e.g. service injuries, payments, confirmation, retirement, re-employment and employee engagement.
- Participating in initiatives/projects that explore incorporation of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve efficiency and effectiveness of HR processes.
- Supporting processes/projects relating to HR systems in the team, including reviewing roles access and overseeing enhancements to systems through change requests, developing report templates to analyse big data, identifying and resolving potential gaps.
What We Are Looking For
REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant educational qualifications and/or relevant work experience.
- Qualifications and/or work experience in accounting would be an added advantage (able to manage full set of accounts).
- Past HR experience in Public Service would be an added advantage.
- Enjoy a diverse portfolio encompassing different aspects of HR.
- Good communication and writing skills.
- Results-driven, as well as meticulous with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently whilst being a good team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
