We're looking for a skilled, scaling-focused manager of people managers, coming from any core HQ background with exposure to people-management policies and manager-development, who can build a nascent team into a core part of the business at a company that will double our team sizes in 7 countries starting this summer. As Senior People Operations Manager, you will oversee the full breadth of inline's People function: ensuring our people operations run compliantly and seamlessly across APAC markets, advising managers on talent strategies, and coaching managers to lead with clarity and accountability. Key Responsibilities
1. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Service Orientation: Build the People Operations team into a reliable, go-to resource for other departments. Run regular surveys to measure internal satisfaction with performance and partnership quality.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and friction points between the People Operations team and other functions, and lead initiatives to improve shared workflows and cross-functional processes.
2. Team Leadership & Operations Management
- Team Leadership: Take ownership as manager of inline's global People Operations team. Manage and develop the People Operations team as the company scales. This role will require travel within APAC.
- Employment Law & Compliance: Oversee employment law compliance across APAC markets, including Singapore, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Thailand.
- Operations Oversight: Oversee the full employee lifecycle and ensure operational excellence across all workstreams. Partner with hiring managers on recruiting strategies and sourcing frameworks. Support recruiters on pipeline health, candidate experience, and recruiting metrics.
3. People & Organization Advisory
- Manager Enablement: Coach mid-level leaders to build high-trust, accountable teams with clear expectations.
- Performance Management: Support and guide managers through the full performance review cycle, from goal-setting and calibration to feedback delivery and development planning.
- Workplace Environment: Collaborate with leadership to cultivate a positive, inclusive workplace culture and identify systemic issues early and shaping initiatives that improve day-to-day employee experience.
- Strategic Advisory: Advise department leaders on talent levers, including org design, team structure, and people strategy, to enable their functional goals and support enterprise-wide growth.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Management: Must have lived and worked in at least 2 countries outside of your home country. Must have worked successfully as a Manager, living outside of your home country. 2+ years of experience managing 2+ managers, or 4+ years of regional people management experience overseeing teams across 2+ countries. Proven ability to coach and develop team members, and hold people accountable with care and clarity.
- Multinational on the ground experience is fundamentally important to be successful in this role, and having a small group of people you have managed who have become highly effective managers is also very important.
- Experience: Prior experience in Tech, start-up or high-growth sectors.
- Knowledge: Demonstrated experience across both recruitment and operational sides. Prior experience managing HR policy, compliance, and operations in at least 2 of the following areas: Singapore, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, or Thailand.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and effectively persuade people across skill levels and functions. A service-oriented mindset when handling inquiries, especially from managers and executives.
- Language: Since this role manages people operations across several countries, fluency in English is essential (IELTS 7.0+, is not a substitute for TOEFL). A facility in Mandarin is a nice-to-have.
- Tools: Proficiency with Google Workspace is a cultural necessity to be successful within inline.
