What The Role Is
As a Senior Assistant Director/ Deputy Director, Contracts in the Infrastructure and Facility Services Division, you will lead a dynamic team that provides contract and procurement support in the development of school campuses.
What You Will Be Working On
- Lead and oversee the procurement of high-value consultancy and construction services, develop guidelines and provide strategic direction to the team
- Refine and operationalise the framework and standards for cost reviews across school development projects to ensure that the proposed budgets and expenditures for construction are value for money
- Lead the development and implementation of effective and efficient contract administration processes across the department, with direct oversight of a team of contract managers to assess variation costs, verify work done on-site, assess progress claims and finalise accounts
- Build team capability in procurement and contract administration to strengthen the department's expertise in these areas
- Champion strong stakeholder engagement across schools, project teams, industry partners and other stakeholders to build rapport at a senior level and foster a shared understanding of contract and procurement policies and procedures
What We Are Looking For
- At least 8 years of relevant work experience in quantity surveying or related disciplines with at least 3 years of working experience in a leadership position
- Possess in-depth knowledge and strategic understanding of procurement and quantity surveying in the building and construction industry
- A dynamic and innovative individual with strong leadership, people management, communication and analytical skills
