Nava's culture is mostly decent
Working at Nava was definitely an experience. The mission in the govtech space is really cool, and that's what initially drew me in as a Software Engineer. The remote work setup is good for flexibility, but there are some noticeable bumps in the company culture.
The mission is genuinely impactful; you feel like you're actually helping people in the public interest tech space. The remote work flexibility is a huge plus, making work-life balance pretty manageable. My teammates were usually smart and dedicated.
Sometimes the company culture feels a bit disjointed, especially being a fully remote organization. Communication from leadership can be pretty inconsistent. It's tough to get a clear sense of internal growth paths as a Software Engineer, which can be frustrating.
Please work on making internal communication more consistent and clear. Also, creating clearer career development paths for remote employees would be really beneficial for morale and retention.
