Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Accountant for a defined contract period to support the migration of our financial systems. This role is critical for ensuring data integrity and validating system functionality during the transition. The ideal candidate will leverage their strong accounting background to execute and document key migration tasks, including parallel runs and comprehensive data validation.
Contract Duration - December to May 2026
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
The primary focus of this role will be supporting the system migration, which includes:
System Parallel Run Execution: Actively participate in the parallel run testing phase by running financial transactions and generating reports in both the legacy and new systems.
Data Validation & Integrity: Execute detailed validation procedures, comparing ledger data, transaction balances, and financial outputs between the legacy and new systems to ensure 100% accuracy and consistency.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support: Assist in UAT planning and execution, documenting test cases, tracking results, and logging defects related to financial functionality.
Month-End Close Support: Assist the core Finance team in executing standard month-end close operations (e.g., checking financial transactions, processing payments, and performing account reconciliations) during the transition period.
Issue Resolution: Liaise closely with the Technology and Operations teams to log, track, and ensure timely closure of all identified accounting system issues and discrepancies found during testing.
Documentation & Controls: Maintain and update comprehensive documentation (process narratives, control matrices) related to the new system processes.
Requirements
Job Requirements and Credentials:
Education: Bachelor’s/College Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or a related business course is required.
Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of progressive experience in finance operations, accounting, or project roles, preferably within the investment banking or financial services sector.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of general accounting principles, financial statements, and familiarity with credit and loan products.
System Migration Experience (Preferred): Prior experience participating in a system implementation, data migration, or UAT phase is highly advantageous.
Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Work Style: Highly organized, proactive, comfortable working with minimal supervision, and skilled in managing multiple tasks and deadlines within a Service Level Agreement (SLA) environment.
