They are now looking for a Senior Backend Magento Developer (Adobe Commerce Engineer) to join their growing global team.
What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting directly to a UK-based manager, you will be a core member of the engineering team, you will drive the technical development of robust ecommerce platforms. A typical day includes collaborating with cross-functional teams, solving complex architectural challenges, and directly engaging with clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Architecting and developing custom Magento 2 modules, backend functionalities, and secure system integrations.
- Collaborating directly with clients to gather technical requirements, translate business needs into scalable code, and showcase features during interactive demos.
- Optimizing and debugging application performance, database queries, and backend infrastructure to ensure peak security and efficiency.
- Guiding team success by conducting thorough code reviews, participating in morning stand-ups, and mentoring peers through pair programming.
- Partnering closely with designers, product managers, and customer experience (CX) specialists to deliver seamless end-to-end user journeys.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong Magento 2 Expertise: 5+ years of proven experience with Magento 2 architecture, custom module development, and core backend configuration.
- Advanced Backend Knowledge: Deep proficiency in PHP development and MySQL database optimization.
- API Integration Skills: Practical experience building and consuming REST and SOAP web services.
- Modern Dev Tools: Strong familiarity with Git version control and building automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Superb Communication: Confidence in explaining complex technical trade-offs in plain English during client-facing discussions.
- Collaborative Mindset: A proactive problem-solving approach and an enthusiasm for team success.
Bonus Points For
- Cloud Solutions: Experience with Adobe Commerce Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Search & Performance Utilities: Familiarity with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or Symfony framework.
- Infrastructure & Queues: Background using message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka) and containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes.
- Frontend Awareness: Basic knowledge of standard frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) or modern ecosystems like Hyvä, AlpineJS, and TailwindCSS.
- Methodologies & Credentials: Active Magento / Adobe Commerce Certifications or experience working within Agile/Scrum frameworks.
