The Role
The Cloud and Systems Officer will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operations and maintenance of system hardware and software related to IT infrastructure and cloud. Will also be responsible for oversight of the managed service provider for systems, cloud and storage including backup and restoration and DR. He will also support the LAN, WAN and internet operations. Monitoring and maintenance to ensure network reliability and availability for all users.
Your Responsibilities - Systems and Cloud MSP oversight and Performance Management
- Monitor Managed Service Provider (MSP) performance against SLAs and KPIs.
- Conduct regular vendor reviews and escalate issues when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards and security policies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with MSP partners.
- Backup and Cloud Management
- Implement and maintain backup strategies across systems, storage, and cloud platforms.
- Perform routine backup validation and recovery testing.
- Manage cloud storage utilization and optimize costs.
- Ensure data integrity, availability, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Cloud and Microsoft 365 Management
- Administer Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and licensing.
- Oversee cloud infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and monitoring.
- Ensure security configurations and compliance with best practices
- Reporting and Communication
- Generate regular reports on system health, performance, and incidents.
- Communicate technical updates and risks to stakeholders in clear business terms.
- Maintain documentation of processes, configurations, and incidents
- Provide recommendations for system improvements based on analytics
- Change & Configuration Management
- Approve and oversee systems and cloud policy changes implemented by the 3rd party, ensuring minimal risk to operations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date systems, cloud inventories, and configuration records.
- Systems and Server Operations
- Conducts regular assessment of the systems and server infrastructure and propose improvements and upgrades based on the assessment
- Configure, setup network equipment, managing security systems, troubleshooting problems, and optimizing network performance.
- Oversee network, systems and server software and firmware and ensure that they are up to date to address vulnerabilities and improve performance.
- Resolve network/systems/server/backup issues and maintain updated documentation of incidents, resolutions, and lessons learned.
- Coordinate with stakeholders during incidents, outages, and network/systems/server disruptions to ensure timely resolutions.
- Oversee root cause analysis and continuous improvement plans.
- Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for network/systems/server infrastructure in collaboration with the stakeholders.
- Ensure systems and server align with business objectives and scalability requirements.
- Participate in vendor selection, contract negotiations, and renewal processes.
- Incident response
- Manage systems and server technology and ensure compliance with regulations
- Develop and implement security policies and procedures
What We're Looking For
- At least 3-5 years in Systems Administration or Infrastructure Engineering
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 in an enterprise environment
- Experience supporting cloud infrastructure
- Experience managing enterprise backups and disaster recovery
- Experience supporting enterprise networks
- Experience managing outsourced IT vendors or MSPs
- Experience in incident management and root cause analysis
- Experience implementing infrastructure security best practices
