Job Duties

Supervise daily implementation of OSH programs on site
Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions
Ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
Monitor proper use of PPE by all personnel
Conduct toolbox meetings, safety orientations and safety briefings
Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions and prepare corresponding reports
Recommend corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence of incidents
Coordinate emergency preparedness and response activities including drills and evacuation procedures
Monitor contractor compliance with safety requirements and permit-to-work systems
Maintain safety records, reports, inspection checklists and documentation
Assists in preparation and submission of reports required by government agencies
Promote safety awareness and continuous improvement of workplace safety culture
Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety standards applicable to mining/construction/industrial operations
Perform other related duties assigned by Management

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science or related field
Preferably a licensed Engineer and/or accredited Safety Officer
With relevant experience in occupational safety and health supervision
Knowledgeable in OSH standards, risk assessment, incident investigation and emergency response
Strong leadership, communication and report-writing skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Willing to work on shifting schedules and field assignments
