About The Role

Our client is an established Australian-owned, mid sized information technology business with operations across Australia, Singapore, and the Philippines. With a growing local team, they are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior Accountant to oversee all accounting, payroll, taxation, compliance, and administration activities.

Reporting directly to the Australian Finance Team and working closely with local management, this role offers broad exposure across multiple entities and the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and business growth.

This is a hands-on position requiring strong technical accounting capability, leadership skills, and the ability to work autonomously in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Supplier Management

  • Coordinate the purchasing of goods and services.
  • Liaise with suppliers and negotiate competitive pricing.
  • Support procurement and administrative requirements.

Accounts Payable

  • Verify and process supplier invoices.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payments.
  • Maintain vendor records and payment schedules.

Accounts Receivable

  • Raise and process customer invoices.
  • Manage intercompany invoicing with overseas entities.
  • Work closely with internal teams regarding billing requirements.
  • Monitor receivables and manage collections.

Payroll Administration

  • Process payroll and ensure compliance with Philippine payroll legislation and statutory requirements.

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Maintain accurate accounting records.
  • Perform data entry and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Prepare monthly and year-end management accounts.

Banking & Cash Flow Management

  • Manage banking transactions and cheque deposits.
  • Liaise with banking institutions.
  • Monitor cash flow and assist with financial planning activities.

Taxation, Compliance & Regulatory Reporting

  • Manage all Philippine statutory, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and submit government filings and payments.
  • Ensure compliance with local business regulations.

Audit Management

  • Lead and coordinate annual statutory audits.
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Liaise with external auditors and consultants.
  • Address audit findings and implement corrective actions.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
  • Develop and document accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Qualifications and Experience

Technical Skills

Essential

  • Qualified Accountant.
  • Minimum 5 years of post-qualification accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine accounting, payroll, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience preparing management accounts and financial reports.
  • Experience managing end-to-end Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, and month-end processes.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical ability.

Preferred

  • Experience with Xero accounting software.
  • Experience with SweldoNow Payroll software.
  • Experience supporting Australian or international businesses.
  • Exposure to multi-entity accounting environments.

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to identify process improvements and implement efficiencies.

Working Arrangement

  • Primarily remote, aligned with Melbourne business hours.
  • Monthly office attendance required -1 day
  • Additional office attendance may be required when senior management visits.
