What are we looking for?
Skills Required
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Design or related discipline
- 8+ years’ experience in civil land development project delivery
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Civil 12D
- Extensive knowledge of Australian standards (AS/NZS 1170 series, AS 2159, AS 1742) and local council guidelines
- Strong understanding of stormwater, sewer, water, road, earthworks, and utilities design principles (Essential)
- Experience working within SEQ Development Approvals and Infrastructure Design Guidelines
- Ability to interpret survey data, engineering drawings, and geotechnical reports
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and civil infrastructure delivery
- Proven experience in technical leadership within drafting or civil design teams
- Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills
- High attention to detail with strong quality assurance mindset
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience mentoring, leading and developing technical staff (Essential)
What will you do?
- Lead the drafting and technical delivery of civil land development projects
- Provide technical guidance and direction across design and drafting outputs
- Review and approve drawings, plans, and documentation for accuracy, constructability, and compliance
- Ensure all project deliverables meet SEQ standards, Australian codes, and council requirements
- Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and consultants to resolve technical design issues efficiently
- Act as the key technical contact for internal teams and external stakeholders
- Communicate project progress, risks, and design changes clearly and proactively
- Ensure project milestones are met within scope, time, and quality expectations
- Mentor and develop drafting staff to improve capability and technical expertise
- Review team outputs to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance
- Promote best practices and continuous improvement across the drafting function
- Maintain compliance with relevant standards, codes, and internal design procedures
- Oversee quality assurance processes, including audits and reviews of drafting outputs
- Identify opportunities to improve drafting workflows, tools, and efficiency
- Support implementation of new software, systems, and design technologies
