As a Mechanical Engineering Drafter, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and controlling mechanical documentation to support the design, development, and validation of power supply products. You will work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to produce accurate drawings, assemblies, and documentation using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
This role has a strong focus on documentation accuracy, configuration control, and engineering change support. The position also includes hands-on support in the engineering lab to assist with prototype builds, test setups, and validation activities. The ideal candidate has strong drafting skills, attention to detail, and a practical understanding of mechanical hardware used in power electronics products.
- Create, update, and maintain mechanical drawings, assemblies, and bills of materials (BOMs) using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Prepare and submit Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) using SAP
- Update drawings, BOMs, and related documentation required for ECR/ECO approval and release
- Maintain documentation discipline, version control, and configuration accuracy throughout the product lifecycle
- Assist in the development and documentation of product build procedures and assembly instructions
- Support prototype builds and lab activities, including mechanical assembly and fixture setup
- Assist with lab test setups and validation activities as needed (e.g., thermal testing, acoustic/noise testing)
- Identify documentation gaps or improvement opportunities to support efficient builds and testing
