Job Summary

Software Systems Engineering is an arm of systems engineering that addresses the development of complex software-intensive systems. It involves analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and maintaining a broad range of software based on specific user needs, while taking into consideration the quality, time, and budget required. The individual needs to understand and be able to explain all features of the system software. The SSE needs to work with the product owner, developers, and QAs on understanding how the system should work and how the software supports its functionality.

Job Responsibilities

• A Software Systems Engineer will assess a problem and design a new system or improve the existing one to make it better and more efficient. They need to demonstrate superb technical competency, deliver mission-critical infrastructure, and ensure the highest availability, performance, and security.

• Consult with cross functional developers ( electrical, mechanical, software, manufacturing ) to determine system functional specifications

• Analyze and assess software system functionality and architecture, and at times develop prototypes and participate in every aspect of software development, including user needs and requirements gathering, documentation, design, programming, quality control, release engineering, and software sustaining,

• Travel to customer site, as needed, to support software/product issues, or to understand software’s functional and operational needs from the customers.

• The SSE will work with other engineers to understand, develop, and assure that algorithms used in the software are documented and incorporated in the Software Requirements Document.

Requirements

About You

You will own and enhance SEEK’s back-office and identity platforms, with a primary focus on Microsoft 365 and related services, ensuring they are secure, highly available and aligned to our cloud-first strategy.

Review journal entries to ensure journals booked are validated/ substantiated in accordance to company Journal Policies. Collaborate with GL Analyst in understanding the journal's supporting evidence & approval.
• Support & coordinate HFM related task from region perspective, including error validation, coordinate on half year/year end disclosures per Group timeline.
• Support GL Analyst in rectify issues or enquiries pertaining to GL transactions within the entities supported.
• Organize and host balance sheet review calls with stakeholders (FC, FD, FBP, FP&A, HR, etc) to review & form action plan on aged items >90days and irregular/material open items. This includes challenging on validity of these items.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and sub-module functions (FA, AP, AR, IC, CM) to execute the action plan to clear these items to ensure a clean balance sheet position, escalate to manager or senior leaders if required
• Review month end balance sheet reconciliation file on monthly basis, ensure correct support documentation, reconciling items & action plan entered & completed correctly by the reconciler.
• Understand and ensure compliance with Experian policies and be the first line of defense/ Gatekeeper of the books.
• Provides guidance to team members, advising team on any matters arising from GL process
• Ensure stakeholders queries are attended to and resolved in a timely, responsible and proactive manner
• Ensure GL team key metrics are met & maintained, e.g. reduce aged open items & maintained the quality of month end balance sheet reconciliation file.

The Senior Grid System Design Engineer is the technical "Gatekeeper" for our BESS pipeline. This role carries dual responsibility: performing the advanced mathematical simulations required for TNB approval and acting as the primary technical auditor for BESS and PPC hardware suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• BESS Dynamic Modeling: Develop site-specific BESS models including Inverters (PCS), Battery
• Management Systems (BMS), and Power Plant Controllers (PPC). You must accurately model GridForming (GFM) logic, Virtual Inertia, and sub-50ms Fast Frequency Response (FFR).
• Supplier Technical Auditing: Critically review BESS and PPC supplier proposals. You must verify if their stated ramp rates, Round Trip Efficiency (RTE), and control loop latencies are mathematically achievable and compliant with TNB requirements.
• Grid Impact Studies: Lead the execution of Load Flow, Short Circuit, and Transient Stability studies. must specifically address Weak Grid ($SCR < 2.0$) challenges and ensure the BESS does not cause sub-synchronous oscillations.
• TNB Regulatory Representative: Serve as the lead technical representative at TNB GSO (EMS Unit) meetings. You will defend the simulation results and manage the end-to-end Interconnection Agreement (IA) process.
• Harmonic & Power Quality Validation: Perform detailed harmonic resonance studies to identify if a supplier's inverter switching frequency will clash with the local TNB grid impedance.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems or Power Electronics focus).
• Experience: * Minimum 8+ years in utility-scale power systems.
• Direct experience in modeling at least two utility-scale BESS projects (min 10MWh+) in a professional simulation environment.
• A proven track record of at least 3 successful TNB Grid Impact Study (GIS) approvals.
• Professional Status: Must be a Professional Engineer (Ir.) or a high-level Graduate Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
• Technical Authority: Ability to demonstrate prior experience in rejecting or correcting supplier technical designs based on simulation findings.
