About the role

This is a hands-on, people-facing internship at the front line of a new product launch. You'll be the person who finds neighbourhood shop owners, reaches out to them, and gets them interested enough to book a short product demo. The project lead runs the demos and handles the rest — your job is to build and work the pipeline that feeds them.

Because most of the shop owners we're approaching speak Mandarin or Chinese dialect, your ability to talk to them comfortably in their own language is the single most important part of this role.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain a pipeline of candidate merchants (minimarts, provision shops, neighbourhood stores) using online directories, maps, and business listings.

• Make outreach calls — mostly in Mandarin / dialect — to shop owners to introduce the pilot, check whether they're a good fit, and book demo appointments.

• Keep the lead tracker up to date: contact details, call outcomes, follow-ups, and status.

• Coordinate and schedule demo and meeting slots for the project lead.

• Send follow-up messages via WhatsApp / WeChat and chase responses.
• Share what owners are telling you so we can sharpen the approach.

Who we're looking for

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma or degree (any discipline; business, marketing, or communications a plus).
• Fluent in Mandarin (required) — you'll be speaking with shop owners directly in Mandarin.
• Conversational in a Chinese dialect — Hokkien, Teochew, or Cantonese — is a strong advantage and the biggest differentiator for this role.
• Comfortable making cold calls and striking up conversations with strangers; friendly, persistent, and not easily discouraged by a "no."
• Organised and reliable with follow-ups and record-keeping.
• Based in Malaysia and able to work remotely, with comfort making calls to Singapore merchants.
• Proficient enough in English for internal coordination.

Nice to have

• Prior sales, telesales, promoter, retail, or other customer-facing experience.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote setup — reliable internet and a quiet space for calls.
• Some familiarity with Singapore's neighbourhood retail scene (minimarts, provision shops) — helpful for building rapport on calls.

A DAY IN A LIFE

At Teleport, we’re building toward IPO — and that means doing the boring things well. Execution, discipline, and follow-through matter as much as big ideas.

Your day will be varied, often crossing functions, but most of your time will focus on delivering results, owning your scope end-to-end, making fast, data-informed decisions, and following through on fundamentals like reporting, documentation, and processes.

How we work matters as much as what we achieve. Doing the basics right, every time, sets us up for success. 

Most of your time will be spent driving impact through:

• Assist the Customer Care team in responding to customer queries professionally and in a timely manner.
• Support the team in communicating solutions and updates to merchants, agents, and consumers.
• Assist in routing escalations to the appropriate internal teams or communication channels.
• Support daily customer service operations, including ticket monitoring, follow-ups, and documentation.
• Participate in training and development activities to improve product knowledge, communication skills, and customer service understanding.
• Assist with basic reporting, case tracking, and administrative tasks related to customer care operations.
• Ensure proper follow-up is done to support smooth customer experience and operational efficiency.

These are minimum-requirement skills and a ‘must-have’ for the role:

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Communication, Customer Service, or related fields.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic customer service knowledge is an advantage.
• Proficient in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email, chat, and social media platforms.
• Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to follow up on tasks accurately.
• Willing to learn, adaptable, and able to work independently with guidance in a fast-paced environment.

• Assist in identifying potential clients and generating leads through research and outreach.
• Support the sales team in preparing presentations, proposals, and sales materials.
• Participate in client meetings and calls to understand customer needs and present solutions.
• Maintain and update CRM systems with accurate client information and sales activities.
• Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitors, and opportunities.
• Help organize and attend promotional events or trade shows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing and customer service.

Role and Responsibilities 

The selected candidate(s) will be a key member of the small team working at Stranger Soccer Kuala Lumpur, assisting with various marketing, operations, and community engagement initiatives. 

• Serving on the front lines of the customer experience, supporting as an on-ground host for a few football sessions each week. 

• Coordinating and executing various tasks related to the daily operation of the business, such as social media, marketing, event coordination, player communications, and outreach.

The candidate will:

• Gain experience in the daily operations of a sports and community-based business. 

• Gain confidence in communicating and engaging with players and partners. 

• Gain practical exposure in sports marketing, event coordination, and customer experience. 

• Gain understanding of how Stranger Soccer builds and grows its player community in Kuala Lumpur. 

• Student or recent graduate in Marketing, Sports Management, Communications, or a related field 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Enthusiastic, organised, and eager to learn 
• Friendly, positive attitude and a team player 
• Passion for football is a BIG PLUS

Automation and digitalization to support Procurement transformation initiatives. This role provides hands-on exposure to real business processes and automation development.

• Develop and implement RPA solutions to automate Procurement processes
• Analyze current workflows and identify automation opportunities
• Support data extraction, reporting, and system integration tasks
• Work with cross-functional teams to improve process efficiency
• Test, troubleshoot, and maintain automation scripts
• Document automation processes and user guides
