JOB PURPOSE
To support the development, coordination, and implementation of UEM Lestra’s sustainability and ESG initiatives, ensuring compliance with UEM Group sustainability standards, regulatory requirements, and long-term organisational goals. The role is responsible for ESG reporting, stakeholder engagement, data management, and execution of sustainability-related projects.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES / KEY RESULT AREA
1) Sustainability Strategy & Implementation
- Assist in developing and executing the company’s sustainability roadmap aligned with group-wide ESG priorities.
- Coordinate sustainability initiatives across business units and ensure timely implementation.
- Support integration of sustainability considerations into operations, projects, and decision-making processes.
2) ESG Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare sustainability reports, ESG disclosures, and submissions required by regulators (e.g., Bursa guidelines), group reporting, and external stakeholders.
- Track, monitor, and consolidate ESG data (environmental, social, and governance metrics) from relevant departments.
- Ensure compliance with sustainability frameworks such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, and any internal group sustainability guidelines.
3) Stakeholder & Internal Engagement
- Coordinate sustainability programs, training, and awareness activities for employees.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders including consultants, regulators, partners, and subsidiaries on sustainability matters.
- Support materiality assessments, surveys, and stakeholder feedback processes.
4) Environmental & Social Performance Management
- Monitor performance related to key environmental areas (energy, waste, emissions, biodiversity).
- Assist in managing social impact initiatives including community programs, employee volunteerism, and CSR activities.
- Support risk assessment related to climate change, environmental impacts, and social risks.
5) Projects & Initiatives
- Support the planning and execution of sustainability-related projects such as carbon reduction initiatives, green certifications, and energy efficiency programs.
- Conduct research, benchmarking, and analysis to support new sustainability programs and innovations.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL COMPETENCES
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Social Sciences, Business, or related fields.
- Professional certifications in ESG, sustainability, or environmental management (added advantage).
- Strong understanding of ESG frameworks, reporting standards, and sustainability trends.
- Good analytical skills, data management, and report-writing ability.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and sustainability reporting tools.
