The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the payment gateway operates in full compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards. The role supports regulatory reporting, monitors operational compliance risks, and works closely with internal teams to ensure adherence to applicable laws and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) guidelines, AML/CFT requirements, and other applicable regulations).
- Monitor updates to laws and regulatory frameworks affecting payment and fintech operations.
- Assist in preparing and submitting regulatory reports to authorities.
- Monitor suspicious transactions and escalate potential AML/CFT issues.
- Support suspicious transaction reporting (STR) processes.
- Develop, review, and update internal compliance policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure operational processes align with compliance requirements.
- Conduct periodic compliance reviews and risk assessments.
- Identify control gaps and recommend corrective actions.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Law, Finance, Business, or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in compliance, risk, banking, fintech, or payment gateway environment.
- Familiarity with AML/CFT regulations and payment industry requirements.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience dealing with BNM or regulated financial institutions.
- Knowledge of payment flows (FPX, cards, e-wallets, DuitNow).
- Experience in regulatory reporting and audit handling.
