Design and build APIs and microservices on the existing Java/Spring Boot stack.
Own the data model and integrations to systems and third parties (payment gateways, WhatsApp Business / SMS, mapping, identity).
Hold the backend quality bar code reviews, test authoring, SOC 2 / ISO 27001- aligned engineering practices in every new module.
Partner with the Mobile Engineer on API contracts and BFF design; partner with DevOps on releases and observability.
Operate AI-augmented engineering (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or equivalent) as the default workflow design, code, test, document and contribute prompt/workflow patterns back to the squad.
Contribute to the reusable backend-capability layerbuilds for futureengagements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
6+ years backend engineering with Java and Spring Boot at scale.
Fluent in REST API design, relational and non-relational data modelling, message-based and event-driven patterns.
Experience integrating to payment gateways, identity providers, and messaging platforms (WhatsApp Business API, SMS).
Hands-on with CI/CD, automated testing, and observability for backend services.
