Promote proactive risk management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in safety performance for both Bureau Veritas personnel and clients.
Provide strategic and operational leadership for Malaysia & Brunei, ensuring strong financial, operational, and commercial performance.
Continuously elevate standards of technical and service excellence, driving sustained improvements in client satisfaction and organisational effectiveness.
Foster close, collaborative relationships with business unit managers, embedding a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.
Identify, assess and pursue growth opportunities across the region in alignment with Bureau Veritas’ global strategic plan.
Champion the development of new services and entities.
Consistently achieve or exceed revenue, operating profit, and cashflow targets in accordance with budgetary objectives.
Key Accountabilities
Ensure the efficient, compliant and high-quality operation of all Marine & Offshore activities in accordance with BV M&O procedures and standards.
Hold full financial accountability for Malaysia & Brunei - including P&L ownership, cash management, and delivery of KPIs and performance objectives established by M&O SEA leadership.
Translate and implement the global M&O Strategic Plan and BV policies at the local level, ensuring alignment and effective execution.
Develop and execute local business strategies to expand BV’s footprint and market share across marine, offshore, and adjacent sectors.
Build and lead an optimised, high-performing organisation by developing talent, strengthening leadership capability, and driving a culture of operational excellence.
Serve as the principal commercial interface for M&O in the region, representing BV to clients and partners including shipowners, shipyards, managers, offshore operators and Other Government Departments.
Ensure rigorous compliance with all Group and Business Line guidelines, governance standards, and quality systems.
Undertake additional projects and assignments as delegated by M&O SEA Management.
Requirements
Possess a bachelor's degree in management, engineering or relevant equivalent professional qualification.
Extensive experience within the Marine & Offshore industry, with a minimum of 15 years in relevant technical or commercial roles and at least 5 years in a senior people-management position.
Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership, resilience, and self-motivation.
Exceptional communication, networking, and stakeholder-influencing skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across diverse client and partner networks.
Proven capacity to inspire, develop, and lead teams toward high performance and shared strategic goals.
Strong business acumen and financial literacy, with the ability to interpret and act on key commercial and operational drivers.
Strong experience working within an international organization; including experience working within marine classification societies; familiar with reporting, governance frameworks and protocols.
