The Senior Manager - Remittance role is a key leadership position within the bank’s payment operations function. This role will oversee local and cross-border remittance activities, ensure strong regulatory compliance, and drive operational efficiency while maintaining high service standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end remittance and payments operations, including local and cross-border transactions
- Manage daily payment processing through SWIFT, IBG, RENTAS, MEPS, and other payment channels
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including BNM guidelines, AML/CFT policies, and sanctions screening
- Monitor transaction flows and resolve operational issues, discrepancies, and exceptions
- Manage service level agreements and ensure timely and accurate transaction execution
- Lead audits, regulatory reporting, and internal control reviews
- Analyse payment trends, propose strategies to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience, and lead team performance and capability development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Banking, Business, or a related field
- 8 to 12 years of experience in banking operations, with strong exposure to remittance and payments
- In-depth knowledge of payment systems, including SWIFT, RTGS, IBG, MEPS, and related channels
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, including BNM, AML/CFT, and sanctions compliance
- Experience in managing operations teams and stakeholder engagement
