Job Description
Your main duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Ensure compliance to local legal and company requirements on HSE and fire safety.
- Ensure HSE and Fire Safety Policy and procedures are effectively implemented and reviewed regularly.
- Ensure contractors, vendors and staff comply with HSE and Fire Safety Policy.
- Liaise with relevant authority on HSE and fire issues.
- Attend internal / external & clients' HSE and fire audit if required.
- Ensure implementation of ISO45001 & ISO14001 standards.
- To attend BOMBA yearly inspection prior to Fire certificate renewal
- To attend any seminar that is related to DC fire and safety matter
- Drive HSE innovation project and be part of the team.
- Assist Site Manager to be the point of contact (internal / external) during significant events or multi-discipline HSE & Fire Safety related matter escalations.
- Co-ordinate and supervise the occupants within the premises in firefighting and in evacuation in the event of fire or other related emergencies.
- To be assessor for permit to work.
- To ensure all site emergency drills are conducted and to report to KDCH HSE Team if there is any deviation.
- To ensure Toolbox Meeting are conducted by contractor/vendor prior to start of work.
- To be part of Risk Assessment Team and review Risk Assessment.
- To assist KDCH HSE Team to organize HSE & Fire Safety Campaigns, training,
- competitions and other HSE and fire related activities within the premises.
- To assist Operation Team in incident investigation.
- Ensure all observations are registered inside the hazard reporting.
- Ensure all observations are closed out in a timely manner.
- Ensure all HSE related documents and records are kept properly and made readily
- available for inspection.
- To conduct internal HSE and Fire related training.
- To cross check other Data Centre within the same region when required (subjected
- to Operation Manager and Site Manager approval).
- Travel overseas for work / assignment as and when necessary or requested by your immediate supervisor / the head of department.
- Such other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably requested by your immediate supervisor / the head of department from time to time.
Job Requirements
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
- Diploma or Degree in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field.
- Relevant HSE or Fire Safety certifications (e.g. Safety Officer, Fire Safety Manager, ISO Auditor – depending on local requirements).
- 5 or more years of prior experience in data centres, industrial sites, or critical infrastructure environments is an advantage
- Strong working knowledge of HSE and Fire Safety regulations, including local legal requirements and authority expectations.
- Hands on experience implementing and maintaining ISO 45001 (OH&S) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) management systems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, across both internal teams and external parties.
