Okay Work-Life Balance for CPG, but it varies
Pros: Work-life balance as a Brand Manager can be pretty good outside of peak seasons. There's a decent hybrid schedule, usually 3 days in the Chicago office, which helps with flexibility. We do get some solid benefits too, typical for a big corporate company in the CPG industry.
Cons: However, during big product launches or fiscal year-end, things get really hectic. I've definitely put in 50-60 hour weeks then, which isn't ideal. It feels like global teams often set deadlines that don't always consider local team capacity.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into better resource allocation during peak times to prevent burnout. More clear communication on global project timelines would also help local teams manage their workloads better.

Decent work-life balance for CPG, but has its moments
Pros: For an Associate Brand Manager in the consumer goods industry, the work-life balance is pretty okay most of the time. They've got a solid hybrid work model in the Chicago office, which helps with flexibility. We don't usually work crazy weekends unless there's a huge launch.
Cons: It's a big corporate environment, so busy periods can get intense. You'll definitely have long days during product launches or big campaign pushes in CPG marketing. Sometimes it feels like you're always "on" with emails.
Advice to Management: Try to better allocate resources during peak launch periods. It would help prevent burnout for the marketing teams and ensure better work-life balance overall.

Okay balance, but often demanding CPG work
Pros: I really liked the hybrid work model; it meant I could WFH a couple of days a week. The benefits package is solid, and you get decent vacation time, which helps a bit in the consumer packaged goods world.
Cons: It's a grind for marketing roles. You'll definitely put in long hours, especially around product launches. The pressure means I often logged on after dinner, and that really wrecked my actual work-life balance. It's hard to switch off.
Advice to Management: Management needs to seriously look at how much is being asked of brand teams. We can't keep doing more with less; it leads to burnout. Better resource allocation, especially for the Chicago office, would go a long way in improving employee well-being in this global CPG company.
