High Learning Curve, Challenging Work-Life Balance

PwC can be a good place to kick off your career in consulting, but be ready for the long hours. The people are usually great, which helps. It's a big corporate environment so you learn a lot, but it definitely impacts your personal life.


Pros

You learn so much as a Senior Associate here. The teams are really smart, and you get exposed to a ton of different consulting projects. It's a solid place for career growth if you can handle the pace.


Cons

The work-life balance is really tough, especially in advisory roles. Expect long hours, often 60+ a week during busy periods. Even with a hybrid setup, you're usually tied to your laptop all the time.


Advice to Management

Try to enforce more realistic project timelines. Burnout is a real issue for many, especially in client-facing consulting positions. Value employee well-being more.

Pros: The team spirit among my fellow Senior Associates in the New York City office was often great. We helped each other through tough client engagements in professional services, which made it bearable. There's a decent network if you put in the effort.
