Leadership is a Mixed Bag Here

Working at TOPPAN Security was an experience. My team and immediate manager were great, especially for learning in the information security field. But the higher-ups struggled with consistent vision and communication. It makes things tough when you're trying to grow.

Pros

My direct manager was solid, really helped me out as a Security Analyst. You can learn a ton from good mentors here in the cyber security space. The hybrid model for work is also a big plus, makes things easier.

Cons

Upper management in the New York City office often felt pretty distant. Communication from them wasn't always clear, and it's hard to get a sense of the company's direction. For us in the corporate environment, that created some frustration.

Advice to Management

Leadership needs to work on clearer communication and setting a consistent, long-term vision. Getting feedback from Security Analysts on how decisions impact daily operations would be really helpful.

Okay Start for Security, But Growth Stalls
Pros: As a Security Analyst, it's a solid place to learn the ropes in the cybersecurity industry. You get decent exposure to different tools and basic processes. The onsite training and initial onboarding were pretty good for new hires.
Cons: Career growth here feels pretty slow. It's tough to move up, and internal promotions are rare for mid-level roles. You can get stuck doing the same tasks for a long time, especially in the Dallas, TX office.
Advice to Management: Focus on creating clearer paths for career advancement and promoting from within. It would really help with employee retention and morale.
