Growth is Possible, But You'll Drive It
Being a Life Sciences Consultant here in the Boston office was an experience. You get to work with some big names in the biotech industry, which is cool. But when it comes to your own career path, it's a bit of a mixed bag. You really have to push for opportunities.
I liked getting hands-on with major pharmaceutical clients right away as a Life Sciences Consultant. You definitely gain exposure to different parts of the biotech industry. If you speak up and network, you can find interesting project work.
The formal career growth structure isn't super clear, especially past the junior levels. It felt like promotions for consulting roles could be a bit opaque, and sometimes you're waiting for opportunities rather than them being actively presented. Not much mentorship on career progression either.
Establish clearer career progression paths and provide more proactive mentorship for employees, especially for consulting roles. Make the promotion criteria more transparent.
