Hybrid Work Is Okay, Depends on Your Team
Working at Trip.com Group definitely has its ups and downs when it comes to flexibility. As a Product Manager, I've seen it vary a lot depending on the team and your direct manager. It's not a bad place to be, but don't expect a perfectly consistent remote or hybrid experience across the board.
For some teams here, the hybrid model works pretty well. As a Product Manager, I could usually arrange my schedule if I had an appointment or personal errands, which is a big plus. It's nice to have that option in a big tech company like this.
Flexibility isn't universal across this online travel agency. Some managers in the Shanghai office really push for you to be onsite more, even if your role allows for remote. It really varies by department, so it's not a consistent policy across the corporate structure.
Standardize the hybrid work policy across all departments and trust teams more with their scheduling. Clear guidelines would really help everyone, especially for employees in roles that aren't strictly client-facing.
