Work-life balance is okay for data center roles
Being a Data Center Technician at Vantage Data Centers in Ashburn, VA was decent. The work-life balance is pretty standard for this type of technical role. It's not great, but it's not terrible either.
You usually know your shift work schedule far in advance. That's a huge plus for planning. Vacation time is generally respected for data center operations staff. It feels pretty stable here, which is nice.
On-call rotations can be tough. Sometimes they really mess with your personal life. As a Data Center Technician, being onsite for critical infrastructure issues means unexpected long hours. This can definitely hurt work-life balance in the Ashburn, VA office.
Please look into better ways to manage the on-call burden. More support or clearer schedules for Data Center Technicians would help a lot. It'd make work-life balance much more consistent.
