Growth is tough unless you push for it

Honestly, my time at Quest Global for career growth was just okay. As an Associate Engineer, I learned a lot on projects. But actually moving up the ladder? That's another story.

Pros

Working as an Associate Engineer, you get diverse projects. It's solid for learning new tech stacks in engineering services. There are decent internal training programs, which helps for skill development.

Cons

Career progression feels really slow for junior roles. Getting a promotion as an Associate Engineer can take forever. You kinda have to fight for new opportunities in this large corporate environment.

Advice to Management

Speed up career progression paths for junior engineers. Make promotion criteria clearer across the Bengaluru office. Recognize proactive efforts more consistently.

Decent Balance if You Manage Projects Well
Pros: The flexible hours are a real lifesaver, especially with the hybrid model in the Bengaluru office. If you're efficient, you can actually keep your 40-hour weeks. There's good support from some teams when you're slammed with deadlines.
Cons: But honestly, some project timelines are just too aggressive in this engineering services industry. You often find yourself working late to meet client demands. It can get tough to switch off when projects run long.
Advice to Management: Try to set more realistic project timelines upfront for clients. It would really help reduce burnout among the Project Engineers and maintain better team morale.

Leadership is a mixed bag for engineers
Pros: Some project managers are really supportive. They help you learn a lot as a Mechanical Engineer. It's good for getting experience in the aerospace industry.
Cons: Senior leadership in the Bengaluru office often feels out of touch. Decisions can seem pretty sudden, and explanations are sparse. This makes it tough to feel aligned sometimes.
Advice to Management: Try to bridge the gap between senior leadership and project teams. More consistent communication and clear vision for digital engineering projects would help a lot.

Work-life balance can be tough for engineers here
Pros: You get to work on cool aerospace projects within a global engineering firm. There's good exposure to new tech, and the team in Bengaluru is generally supportive. When things are calm, the 40-hour weeks are manageable.
Cons: The work-life balance for Senior Software Engineers isn't always great, especially during critical project phases. We often have 50+ hour weeks. It's tough with the hybrid model; sometimes you're expected in the office late for engineering services projects.
Advice to Management: Try to staff projects better to avoid crunch times. Empower managers to protect their teams' personal time. A better understanding of the toll high-pressure engineering services projects take would help.
