Benefits are okay, pay needs work
I've been working at Check Point Software as a Security Engineer for a few years. The benefits package is pretty solid, but I gotta say, the actual pay in the cybersecurity industry here is just not competitive, especially considering working remote from Texas.
The health benefits are actually pretty good; they cover a lot, which helps. The PTO policy isn't bad for a big tech company, and as a Security Engineer, it feels decent. The 401k match is also a fine perk.
The base salary is pretty low for the cybersecurity industry, and it's tough to feel competitive with market rates. Raises don't really keep up, and bonuses are often small. Don't expect much in the way of stock options either.
Re-evaluate the compensation structure, especially base salaries for technical roles like Security Engineers. It's hard to retain top talent when pay isn't competitive with other companies in the cybersecurity space.
