Pay is Decent, Benefits Need an Upgrade
Working here as a Junior Civil Engineer, I've found the pay to be decent for the industry standard in Kuala Lumpur, but the benefits package definitely has room for improvement. It's an okay start for someone new to the construction industry.
The base salary for a Junior Civil Engineer in the Kuala Lumpur office is actually pretty competitive for a mid-sized engineering firm. They do cover basic medical, which is a solid plus. It's a fine entry point for new talent in the local construction industry.
Don't expect any big bonuses or dental coverage here. The benefits package feels pretty standard, and it's not great for long-term financial planning. Vacation time is also a bit stingy, especially for onsite work hours.
Consider enhancing the benefits package, especially adding dental and more robust leave policies. This would really help attract and retain engineering talent in the competitive Malaysian market.
