CNC Programmer / Setup Machinist

Westcoast Precision is a precision machining and manufacturing company serving the semiconductor, aerospace, and high-technology industries. With operations in the United States and Malaysia, we specialize in precision machined components, mechanical assemblies, and contamination-controlled manufacturing solutions.

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Setup Machinist to support our growing manufacturing operations in Penang.

Responsibilities

• Program, setup, and operate CNC milling and/or turning machines
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and machining specifications
• Create and optimize CNC programs for precision machined components
• Perform machine setups including tooling, workholding, offsets, and prove-outs
• Troubleshoot machining and setup issues to improve efficiency and quality
• Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams
• Maintain tooling, fixtures, and setup documentation
• Inspect parts during setup and production to ensure dimensional accuracy
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and cycle time reduction
• Maintain safe and organized work areas

Requirements

• Experience with CNC programming and machine setup
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T
• Familiarity with precision machining practices and tolerances
• Experience with milling and/or turning centers
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Experience in semiconductor, aerospace, or high-precision manufacturing is an advantage

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC setup and programming experience
• Experience with CAM software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar
• Experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis machining centers is a plus
• Familiarity with machining materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and Inconel
• Experience with first article and in-process inspections
